Plugging
Boxes
Plugging boxes are enclosures for various electrical devices. In floor
models, they provide the facility for mounting high and low voltage devices,
such as convenience outlets, microphone jacks, speaker jacks, telephone
jacks, etc., under an access door which can bear the loads of foot traffic.
Similar designs are available for wall installation. Most floor models
provide a cord slot so the cover can be closed while still allowing device
wires to exit the box.
Typical applications for plugging boxes are theatrical stages, convention centers, multipurpose rooms, meeting rooms, conference rooms, and outdoor assembly areas.
